I worked on three more animation sketches today. Now that I’ve done a few sketches to get a feel for the medium, I was able to focus better on a specific action and sequence of motions. For the second piece below, I changed to compressed charcoal which made for a bolder look in the animation. I was surprised that the piece below is the first animation test that I think is just beginning to resemble what I’m looking for. One visual aspect that I like is the build up of marks that occurs as the animation progresses. The frantic quality that I need to achieve is just beginning to show up in the movement.
