Wow! Those really ARE interesting comments. I'm learning to draw now and boy, can I understand this comment: "With each drawing I went through so many emotions, frustration, fear, anger, excitement."

Steve,
I've never used copper sulphate before, but you shouldn't have to repeat spraying/etching to achieve a rich black. When I've used ferric chloride with copper plates, I sprayed the plate one time and bit the plate for 1 hour.

Hi
I have been experimenting with Krylon as aquatint for a while with mixed results on zinc, etching in copper sulphate. Can you suggest timings, spray coverage and repeats to achieve a rich black. I have tended to open bite for two mins to remove all shiny surface then spray and etch and spray and etch to build up more dots and lessen exposed area. Any advice.

Very interesting your "ghost" prints, beside the drawing's transparency it has also a metaphysical dimension. I love the idea of the "unstable" and "unpredictable". I think that we artists have also to be surprised by our own work!

Clara,

We were the winners of "Compulsion" at the Museum Council auction in 2005 at the MFA. We were so glad we did! The piece is so strong and thought-provoking. We ended up redecorating our entire living room around it! Best of luck and continued success.

beautiful drawings. good luck with exhibiting and maintaining momentum - that's crucial. go as far as you can with as much energy as you can muster. don't think of tomorrow and don't "settle." forge ahead. avant garde, my dear!

The drawings actually aren't mounted on the wall. I poked holes into the top of the drawings from which fishing line is tied so that the drawings hang from 2 nails on the wall. This post explains the process: http://claralieu.wordpress.com/2008/08/03/gallery-installation-test/
