I forced myself to buckle down and apply the oil primer to 2 large canvasses. It was hot and humid in my garage, making for a slightly unpleasant experience. I don’t particularly enjoy the process, it’s mostly just tedious and requires that I be very thorough. Mostly the oil priming process just involves scraping the oil primer on the surface of the canvas over and over again to be sure that the surface is perfectly even. At least now I know that the canvases are taken care of, and that it’s just a matter of allowing them to fully dry before I can get to work on them. I still have another medium-large canvas that has the foundation of white paint on it to keep me busy all weekend. By the time the following weekend rolls around these large canvasses should be ready to go.
