Translating into Sculpture

This week I’m questioning whether an sculptural component if ever going to emerge. The entire visual structure of the Wading Series is so completely different from what I was going in the Waiting Series, that I’m not even sure whether it makes sense to move into sculpture. Part of the reason is because the visual effects that interest me the most in the project is the water and the reflections of the shadows in the water, all of which are quite difficult to translate into three-dimensional material.

Something I’ve struggled with is the fact that I don’t specialize in 1 specific media like a lot of artists do. I tend to see my work in sculpture as a means to the 2-D work, which is quite a different mindset than most people would ordinarily take.
