5 minute Gesture Drawings

My head has been spinning about all of the various possibilities that lately I’ve been feeling stuck on where to get started. To counteract this, I assigned myself a short drawing exercise today to get myself moving.  I worked on 25 drawings, each 12″ x 9″ drawn with lithographic rubbing ink and an eraser on white charcoal paper. The experience today made me want to just simplify things and reduce the process of this project to pure drawing. ( as opposed to using other media like animation, which I’ve been experimenting with) There’s something distilled and raw about drawing which I think helps me be more honest in terms of what I want to say.
